used to fish in Chibougamau in northern Quebec It was a 12 Hour drive for us 10 hours north of the boarder stayed @ Camp De Peche Pomerleau
was about $240 for the week (depends on cabin size ) but that was over 10 years ago. I have to agree with HM the further north the better the fishing. last trip out ave. walleye was 5-7# Northerns 12-15#
we did however went on indian waters & one day we caught over 10 northerns over 20# biggest was 28#
I would love to go back but I like the 6-7 hour drive to NY for our hunting trip more

Canada's Imperial Gallon is greater than our U.S. Gallon, it's like 5 Quarts vs, 4 Quarts,
So, If their gas is 7.00 a gallon that would be approx. 5.60 for a U.S. gallon.
One imperial gallon is exactly 4.54609 litres, whereas one U.S. gallon is only 3.7854118 liters.
I hate math while i'm traveling...

ya I hear you, I have a great fishing buddy who happens to be my shift partner at work too. It's a shame he never wanted to start hunting. I've worked with him for 38 years and fished with him since 1980. Our fishing trips mirror my hunting trips, a little friendly competition, great food, and memories. This is the sme guy who always fished with my dad and netted his fish. Strange but I never fished with my dad on any of our trips?? Maybe he didn't like fishing with me:wallbash: Catching big pike is like stalking a buck, you gotta locate them then do everything right and mix in a whole lot of luck. I think a trophy is a trophy whether it has scales, or hair, which I am loosing every day. :shocking:

I think in all my years I have hunted & fished with my dad once ea.
Groing up he told us so many stories about hunting & fishing but really never went with him
Now retired he loves shooting but can't get him to go hunting
I seriously think he doesn't have a passion for it like I do. He hunted & fished because his family had to to survive so it either brings back those bad memories or it is just not fun for him
He had told me numerous times he will never eat Duck or rabbits
for as long as he lives I leave it at that

My problem was my buddy in PA went on all the fishing trips so he and I fished together and my work buddy took care of my dad. Those were great trips back then, even my brother and son got into the action for several years. In the last few years my dad's lungs got too bad for him to go hunting or fishing and finally just quit working. I hope my dad and brother are looking down and smiling every time I'm out there doing what we all enjoyed! I sure miss them. :bye: With the weather so nasty I even went through my fishing tackle today sorting stuff and seeing what I need to stock up on.

HM I am Sure they are
I didn't even get a fishing license this year purchased one every year since I was 16 & last 5 years I maybe went once or twice each year & the cost keeps going up so I am just getting my rifle, archery & Turkey tags this year as now I have to buy my oldest daughter a hunting license on top of it $38 just for her to hunt Spring Turkey's ( roughly the cost for just my fishing license) Now with the Motorcycle I can't keep my wife off it so that is what we do most of the Summer except for my scouting & treestand hanging time

GFD2 wish you lived close, I'd show you a fishing trip of a life time. We have a 14 hr drive from Toledo Ohio. The lake we fish has real monster pike in it. The rush of a 46"-25lb pike on is unbelievable. I know the salt water guys get the really big stuff but fresh water small boat fishing is my other sport. As soon as the weather breaks I get the boat out and begin the spring cleaning prep. I hope to get out a few more times on Lake Erie this year for early walleye.

14 HOUR DRIVE Oh my but those large Pike are fun when we were catching them in Canada I had a 14' Grumman Alum. & those pike were pulling my boat everywhere my trolling motor was having a hard time fighting them & it was a 40lb thrust motor
all we could do is Laugh & let them pull us where they wanted to go
