One wonders why the 358 never gain a big following. I would love to find a Savage 99 in the 358. Prices are pretty steep for a rifle/bullet combo that never got a lot of attention, but has a lot of collector value now in the old 99's, go figure.

I have a 250-3000 and 300 both in the EG models a 1948 and 1952-3?, A 358 would be a nice 99 addition! Always looking for really clean oldies.

Gun writers are probably more responsible for the 358 not finding a bigger crowd is when they dubbed it a "woods caliber". I might be able to describe a woods rifle but the 358 would not be in it. I appreciate all the input on interesting calibers submitted. :thumbup:
