Kinda depends on the rifle you're are putting a scope on. I think any of the Nikon, Leupold scopes in the 200-250 range would suit most hunters and be a very good scope. I too am scope hunting right now. i tend to put higher quality scopes on a higher quality rifle and so on. Even on E-bay can get you a really nice scope for 200 bucks.
