The last few years the cartridge rifle I usually grab up is an 1876 Winchester repro chambered for the 45-60 cartridge. For muzzleloaders my best deer caliber/rifle is the .54 Hawken...but...these past few years I find it real hard to leave the little .40 caliber flintlock longrifle at home.

Yotes- savage model 11 22-250 with a Hornady vmax 145 grain 4300 fps!

Did you mean 45 grain? I sold my rem 700 in 22-250 many years ago as I quit woodchuck shooting.

ooops sorry! yes 45g grain! I couldn't decide between that and an AR but I could justify spending $1100+ for a glorified .223. The 22-250 IMHO is a much better round for coyotes in the areas that i hunt atleast.
