I was looking for articles on different was to use decoys when i came across this........

Deer are naturally skittish animals because many predators will feed on them if the opportunity arises. The presence of other non-predatory wildlife in the forest tell the deer that it is safe to be in the area. One of the animals that deer will associate with is the turkey. These birds have keen senses and are alarmed even easier than deer. The deer realize this and will believe that turkey in the woods means safety. Turkey decoys in conjunction with a few other lures will help the deer feel at ease and bring them into range for a sure shot.​

that makes sense whitetailpred. I've seen deer around turkeys alot. If I were to do this though, i'd make sure to have a realistic turkey decoy.

I have never used a turkey decoy to fool the deer, but I do, and have for many years, use a turkey call and a crow call to signal the all clear for deer. crow are just as skittish as turkeys and have amazing eyesight, I try to drow them in around me. this works pretty good, I have taken several deer with crows in the trees above me, and I have managed to draw in some nice turkeys too

I like it! might give that a try during rifle season to ease their tension and get them into the field quicker. Thanks for the tip.
