while I couldn't locate one in my books, I did locate an article stating that they were made 1949-1955. Value is $100.00-$160.00 with 160.00 in ex cond.
I believe I read somewhere that back in the day (when this shotgun would have been made) that putting serial numbers on guns was optional.Did they not require serial numbers during that time of manufacturing? Or am I overlooking them?
I don't ever remember my father hunting with it, but after he passed away I have all his old guns and pull them out of the gun cabinet and oil them to keep rust off them. There is only 3 guns out his collection that I still use:his is a tank would not want to carry it all day long
+1 !! :thumbup:I believe I read somewhere that back in the day (when this shotgun would have been made) that putting serial numbers on guns was optional.
Further off-topic, but after I had my insurance updated and an appraisal done on my collection I realized that it's time to speak to the kids & sons-in-law, and think ahead for the grands too. I know for a fact that none have the interest I do in guns and might as well let them select the ones they will use (eventually) and let the others be sold when I'm gone. There's no way they can store and care for them all and it simply needs to be done, sooner rather than later now. My favorites may not be ones they would prefer after all..... :wink:I have all but two of my Dad's guns and when my brother passed away I got his also, my sister-in-law didn't want any firearms in the house. My nephew hasn't showed any interest for his Dad's guns, funny when he does hunt he likes my Savage 99. I think in a few more years a transfer to him will happen if not my "will" gives them to him anyway. I know this is off topic but something to talk about.
I know it's off topic too but my nephews and older sons are into football, baseball but my youngest son has a heart condition where he is not aloud to play contact sports and it kills him. He is only 6 and I tell him all the time he can have his own hunting show, he has more gun awareness and hunting knowledge than any teen or child I have come in contact with. ( so proud )I think in a few more years a transfer to him will happen if not my "will" gives them to him anyway. I know this is off topic but something to talk about.
You can try to contact H&R I don't know if they will even have any info on it but it is worth a tryI have a shotgun that I can't find any info on and was wondering if anyone knows about it. It's a Harrington and Richardson model 348 bolt action 12 gauge shotgun That says (GAMESTER) on the barrel but I can't find any serial numbers or dates on it. ( I might be overlooking the too) Does anyone know much about these guns?
