I don't really know anything much about tree stands, but was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about which of these tree stands is the best deal?

First you will need to figure out what type of stand you want to use as each has plus and minus qualities. You need to know your abilities, strength, mobility, fear of heights ect. Ladder stands are probably the most easy to set up and maybe the safest ones, climbers the most comfortable to sit in but require some extra strength to use. Fixed stands require some sort of steps, ladder, sticks to get up and into. Price is also a factor as good climbers maybe the most expensive followed by ladders then fixed stands. Give us some additional specific questions and we'll see what we can provide.

HM I don't agree 100% with your statements
1. I weigh under 120# & have no issues w/ a climber maybe the way I read it but I do not feel I need a whole lot of strength to use it
2. I feel my climber is safer then setting up a ladder stand
Top & bottom are tetherd & I am secured to the tree w/ my harness
I think all cert. tree stands are fairly safe if you use all required safety measures I say fairly safe because it is always safer to be on the ground
the rest I agree with just my opinion
one thing I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND is buy a GOOD safety harness (Vest style) may cost as much as a treestand but your life is worth it
GF, the only thing I can say is I try to post my best thoughts and let the person asking the question make their decision based on all our respective inputs. My opinion, ladder stands are by far the most simple/fastest stand to put up and the safest stand to use. I have used climbers, fixed, sticks , home built ect, you name it and I've had it in a tree. Ladders are the way to go for me, age and physical condition factored in. The other reason ladders have to be used is I hunt big pines and hemlock trees that a climber wouldn't get 4' off the ground in due to the limbs. You are right on the mark about using a safety harness though.
Point taken HM
& we can agree to disagree
But I will say this if you don't use any in a safe manner, read the operators manual, maintain & check the condition of your stand frequently none of them are safe
We definately agree on safety and proper use of any stand. Use what best fits your needs and hunting style and your physical abilities.
I'm more partial to ladder stands like Hunting Man mentioned, i got a Big Game Partner Pro ladder stand that works just fine for me, might be one to look into.
