Drive Safe! I have been intersted in taking a trappers ed course hear in New York for a couple of years now. I haven't gotten around to it yet .I want to learn the art and be able to do it once in a while, more so to see what our frontier ancestors had to do. Write back how it went.

Sounds intense. I haven't looked into what New York requires for certification. Probally at least a 10 hour course. I would also like to trap coyotes to thin the pack down. Best of luck when the time comes around.

Coyotes are legal to hunt/shoot all of deer season and till the end of March. I'm not taking up trapping to make money off pelts. I am picking it up as a minor hobby (Hunting = major hobby). I also see it as a way to connect with our forefathers, many of who trapped for a living. I think it will be fun and if not, at least I tried and didn't leave that dream under a stone along lifes journey.

I never thought there much to trap that you would need to take a course. But I started reading into it,and there is alot more than I thought. Looks pretty neat and something I wouldn't mind giving a try!!
