Tragedy in Florida

Did anyone read about the young lady (a pastor's daughter) that died after a gun accident at church (of all places). Seems that one guy was showing another a handgun in a back room of the church. They remove the magazine, but don't eject the round from the chamber. Gun goes off - round goes through the wall into the next room - and y'all can figure the rest.

Seems the guy wanting to look at the gun was the young lady's fiancee. Guess that neither one of them were ever too familiar with guns to know the first thing you do is ensure that the gun (any gun for that matter) is ALWAYS cleared before handing it from one person to another. That way you BOTH KNOW that the weapon is clear.

Condolences seem a little too late for such a tragedy like this -- and for something that so simple to do, 1) drop magazine 2) lock slide/bolt to rear 3) physically observe chamber to ensure it is clear 4) THEN hand over weapon for someone else to handle

SAFETY! SAFETY! SAFETY!

The tragedy is that the young man did not have someone in his life that would or could show him how to handle a hand gun safely. What we can be greatful for is that the young lady was in church and it is assumed to believed that Christ is her Savior, and now is in a much better place.
Second lady has been involved in a shooting. A shot was fired from Mexico and hit her across the border in the USA. I do not know if she was killed or suffered a non-life threatening wound.
I'm glad this happened in a church so that there's some way for those involved to deal with all this. Sad.
