Little long but here we go...
I am hunting in a blind. My back is north and against very very thick bushes and thickets that I dont think rabbits can get through. There is a field to my right and the deer are jumping a fence there (West) I look straight awead into the woods scattered with mostly white oaks and pines (south) my view to the left (East ) is limited but I can see for a good distance non the less.
If the wind is blowing in from the west then I want to say the deer will be traveling from the East so the wind is in their face. Is the a correct assumption for a "rule of thumb" that the deer travel into the wind?

I think these deer are bedding in an area to the west so the morning hunt and afternoon hunt can be different, I am I all wrong??

No-----Deer like the wind in their face BUT food, water, safety, are 1#. They will always bed with thermos and wind to their advantage however FWS is always 1#. If you know those 3 you can pattern your deer and determine travel corridors. The only variation to this is the rut when sex is at the top of the list.

For sure. the funnel I hunt in always has deer traveling with the wind at their backs. the down side is I dont get the full benefit of my attractant scents blowing into the bedding areas.
