Bruce, a big THANKS from a former Vermonter. I met Larry once quite a few years ago. He really knew how to hunt whitetails!

OneHorse, I was able to talk with Larry for a total of about 35 seconds because he was so overwhelmed with people greeting him and his sons...

Larry spoke with us Friday night at his seminar at the Yankee Sportsman Classic and let me tell you that man at 82 years old is still able to outhunt the best of us, still hunting, and still bagging the 200+ pound trophy's,,, On one video "Tracking Big Bucks with the Benoits" at 76 years old Larry not only shoots another trophy whitetail but dresses and drags it himself.. "God Bless Him"...

Throughout the years the Benoits have consistantly gone into remote wilderness areas of Vermont, Maine and NH and because of their tracking skills they were able to pull out some of the largest whitetail deer those areas had to offer, these are public land fair chase hunters and every year they do it again and again and again.
I've read their books, I've seen their Video's I've met the Benoits personally and I can say without hesitation anyone wanting to improve their hunting skills or develop the skills to track and be able to harvest trophy Whitetails should read their books and watch their Videos.

Bruce,
I heard Larry give a talk on his hunting techniques in Readsboro about 30 years ago. Some drunken clown in the audience started heckling Larry about him poaching deer, etc. So, Larry asked him if he wanted to go outside and discuss it. At which point, the idiots friends took him home.
You see a lot of "experts" out there who use guides and gimmicks to hunt deer, and then they write books, but when it comes to one-on-one deer hunting by tracking, no one beats the Benoits... at least in my opinion. Oh, and they're pretty good at shutting up hecklers, too!

Bruce, this is obviously not a Benoit deer, but I am trying to use the insert image feature and using this as a test. Also, this is the last deer I killed in Vermont and, as you can see (I hope) a huge doe.

Onehorse that's awesome, Glad you were able to get the pic to work and that doe is HUGE !!! I love that pic...

Timberghost, I don't know where you're located but the Benoits are going to be at the Northeastern Sport Show
at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, NY January 25-27, 2008
Their seminar schedule is on their website at The Benoit Brothers <-Click link
I have talked with a lot of hunters that never heard of them and that's probably because they aren't like them phoney
self proclaimed hunters only looking for fame and fortune, The Benoits are real old schooled die-hard hunters,
they're experts at tracking whitetail deer. The youngest Brother, Shane is such a seasoned Tracker so well taught by his father that
he has the ability to take many of his trophy bucks right in their beds.. I think his movement in the woods has been referred to as
a Death-Walk by many who know him and others who have witnessed seeing him in the woods..
I have been talking a lot about them lately but It's only because I have watched all their video's and read (i think) all of their books and
I know the information they are passing along to us has helped me a great deal so I think if someone wants to become a better hunter what they offer can surely help....

Timberghost, It might be better for you to just find someone that will host/sponsor them for a seminar in your area,
I don't know the details to how it all works but the Benoits website says
"If you are interested in the Benoit's doing a seminar in your area, please contact us at 1-888-BENOITS"
Have you got any big sporting goods stores in your area like Cabela's, Bass Pro, Dicks Sporting goods etc etc ????
I know the Benoits do shows at those type of stores...
Good Luck

Those guys have been famous for years. For the life of me cannot understand anyone heckling any one of them. Being loggers I for one would never say a cross word to them. They are in a league of their own. Just think of the 10's of miles they cover in that terrain in the snow. Guys have legs of steel.
