Thank you for posting this website! I think it's great that there are those out there who still support our soldiers. Personally, I like the bumper sticker that says --
"If you can't stand behind our troops, please feel free to stand in front of them!"
I have the privilege of living in a small town in central Texas somewhat (30 miles) close to a large military base (Fort Hood). The entire town is very supportive of the soldiers. When deployed back in 2003 supporting 4th Infantry Division, I saw a banner from another town in North Texas in the Mess Hall. I took a picture of the banner, then sent a letter to the editor of the local paper asking, "If this town can do it, can you?" To make a long story short, I got not one, but three different banners. One was from the town's Chamber of Commerce (put up in the Mess Hall), one from one of the local churches (passed around by one of the chaplains), and another from one of the schools. What goes around comes around, right???
On this last deployment, I managed to have a U.S. flag flown in Iraq and a "Certificate of Authenticity" to that fact signed by a general officer. That flag and certificate will be formally presented to the school sometime before the school year is out.
It's so nice to be able to give a little something back to the community that has supported our troops.
