Im a female, deer hunting for the first time, I heard of a tradition to drink or smear the blood on your face of your first kill. Why is that? What is the purpose?

I've taken several Deer and I'm NOT about to drink a Deers blood and I think it's too cold during hunting season
to be smearing blood on our faces BUT if some hunters feel they need to do such things I guess it's ok for them... :shocking:
