Thanks, a lot of people think pike are not good eating. Well the truth is they are great eating! In the same class as walleye, yellow perch. the big thing is to de-bone them and you have a fine meal. We eat 4-5 lb fish from cold Canadian lakes 60-68* surface water temps.

Too early for me but a few walleye stream fishermen are starting to fling some dollflies. Need that water temp to reach the magic 40*-42*. I did move the boat into the garage to start cleaning it up and get ready. For those who don't know Lake Erie is a great walleye lake, maybe the best. Last year we saw a banner year much like the mid 80's when you could limit out in an hour or two. These are not small fish either, two to four pounds average, some much bigger. During summer you can get some smaller fish but for good eating I like 17"-22" spring fish. Lets see now I think I have several bags of batter mix in the freezer.
