I shot a deer like that a few years back
I shot him in the leg the day before, found him and set up on a field road as he was running by shot him square in the chest he crashed into a icy ditch 30 yds away, only to spring back up to his feet 3 min later and jump into the mid of the road , i shot him in the lungs and he dove across the ditch on the other side of the road and crashed into the field,
i went to get my 4 wheeler to get him and still had to shoot him again
i never saw a buck not die like that one
I would go look for him he didn't go far
