i don't own one but i've picked up a few. seem to be the best built lever gun in my opinion. a bit pricey though. why a lever gun? why not a bolt? bolts tend to be a stronger and inherently more accurate platform.

i always wanted a 30-30 lever but never looked at the 308 sorry. i have a lot of friends that have semiauto and bolt 308 and they like them a lot good long shot rifle

I have never shot a lever action gun before but I have heard that the .308 is a very flat shooting gun. I guess thats why snipers use them. Good luck with your decision.

I had a model 94 30-30 for brush it is a great round, .308 I'm not so sure about,great open range round. The .308 was the main stay for the U.S. military with the older rifles, 7.62 rounds basically. Most of the Marine snipers used 30-06 for their weapon of choice, now they use those monster .50 cal.
Back to the question, anything Browning, is usually a very good rifle.
