i don't own one but i've picked up a few. seem to be the best built lever gun in my opinion. a bit pricey though. why a lever gun? why not a bolt? bolts tend to be a stronger and inherently more accurate platform.
I had a model 94 30-30 for brush it is a great round, .308 I'm not so sure about,great open range round. The .308 was the main stay for the U.S. military with the older rifles, 7.62 rounds basically. Most of the Marine snipers used 30-06 for their weapon of choice, now they use those monster .50 cal.
Back to the question, anything Browning, is usually a very good rifle.
