Everything you pick up these days has Spanish-language instructions on it, Spanish-language ingredients, Spanish-language comments.....except firearms ammunition. It has secondary info on it in French. French!?!? Remington ammo has info in French, as cartouches for cartridges.

Any ideas why, in this day and age? French is a dying language among many dying languages. And the French aren't a huge market for ammunition, since it's not used in retreating from anything.

Anybody shed some light on this conundrum?

Ammunition is a generic term derived from the French language la munition
This could be why it is still on ammo boxes today

Nah, that can't be it. They could have easily gone back into any of the Latin dialects that pre-dated French in that case. Remington isn't French. So why?

Well pretty sure I've seen this also on non-Remington boxes too. I'll swing by the LGS and have a look.
