I love smoking... Actually thinking about starting a grilling and smoking website. I dont have an electric one though. one of the small side burner box ones. I like smoked ham the best. my rub is brown sugar, minced garlic, and orange peel. using hickory wood for smoke. I pour maple syrup over it very slowly so it drizzles down the meat after the 1st hour of so of smoking and then continue to do that about 3 or 4 more times. that gives that sweet tastin crust on the outside.

chicken on a can is a good easy first one. just throw a whole chicken over a can of whatever you drink. throw some rub in the can and throw some rub on the bird. smoke and cook to temp that will not kill you. you will need to look that up.
alrighty, that ham sounds real good. thanks
I'm all for that grilling and smoking website, Dang Buck what are you trying to do start a hunger/food riot man that sounds EXCELLENT. Chicken in a can oh my goodness that stuff is AWESOME. Nobody has smokers around here, just homemade jobs for fish.
If you set-up that web site let us know. I was given a smoker a few months back and haven't got a clue how to use it. Awaiting further instructions.:coffee:
yea that website would be awsome! iv got a cooker i built for a ag project in high school, i want to put a smoke box on it but i havent got a transmision for it yet. i would post some picks but they are to big, ill get on when i figure out what im doin. but its a bbq grill built from a oldsmobile motor. when its closed it looks like a fully built motor ready to run but it opens up to cook on.
smoked deer ham

i love smoking meat there is a rich juicy flavor to it. One way to cook that doe you took for some is to get 2lbs of bacon wrap a ham of deer with the bacon and cut holes in the ham and stuff bacon inside of the holes, if you want some vegtables put carrots, onions, and bell peppers inside the bacon cook for about 5-6 hours depending on the weight of the meat, this is an asesome way to cook a deer ham

Just be sure that your valves, gaskets, and piston rings don't leak so that the motor is at full compression and the flavor is locked in for extra good flavor.:lol::tongue::yes:

lol well there are no valves, gaskets or rings. but i welded the seams so most of the flavor hangs around. its cool when you get a big fire going and you can see the flames coming out of the carb.
The grilling and smoking site will be a little while out. My partners are pretty darn busy right now. Plus I still need them to do quite a bit of work with this one. We are going to start putting together a wildlife recipes section and trying to get some advertisers to support this bad boy. We still need to add quite a few states to our http://www.deerhuntersclub.com/category/regions/ also. If I had to guess hopefully around early summer we will start kicking off the new one. My wife is already putting together some good sides and dessert recipes.
