yup, thats how it all got started with shotguns. Rifled barrels followed a long time later. You won't have the accuracy of a good rifled barrel but for short range it'll do. Try a couple of different brands of slugs and see which one shoots best. I would shoot them at 25 yds to see where they print then at 50 yds. Try shooting at a 3'X3' target with a 5" bullseye and of course a good backstop. Those slugs can move around quite a bit from some barrels. Good luck!
thanks hm i will do that and see what happens

:goodposting: You hit that right on the head HM.
josh, you should check to make sure that the barrel is not a full choke. You need at least a mod, imp cylinder choke to shoot slugs. I forgot to mention this earlier.
I Don't Know If They Still Make These Slugs We Used Them For Years In Smoothbore And Are Super Accurate!!! They Are Called Active Slugs.this Was Around Ten Yrs Ago.we All Shoot Rifled Barrels In Southern Tier Of Our State But Now We Are Able To Use Rifles Instead Of Shotguns. Much Better.
I was going through the gun cabinet and found some of the old remington slugs we called pumpkin balls. I think they are late 50's or early 60's ammo?
