YA know, I attribute it to the loss of the rural way of life and hunting is only a small part of it. And I'm not talking about living outside of town. The way of life in a rural community is fading fast. Our world grows smaller and smaller everyday and it's almost to the point where you don't have to live in the city to be city folk. I think hunting prospers best when handed down from grneration to generation and parents don't do that much anymore. Too many other things available to young people today. There was a time when hunting wasn't a choice but just something that most people did. If you didn't, you didn't, if you did you did, no big deal. Now it seems you have to make a choice.

When I started this post I wasn't trying to bash outfitters or people that go after trophys, I would love to go on a guided hunt if I could afford it. I was just stating that it's also nice to see someone take a smaller buck and, I guess, hunt the way I grew up hunting. Anyway, it looks like this topic strikes a nerve with a lot of people. Good conversation.
 The simple things in life are best. I always heard "The Grass is Greener on the Other Side of the Fence" but that's coz of all the bullcrap there. I will enjoy my accomplishments here even after I go with an outfitter or whatever. After all, who am I trying to please?

I'm in the middle here, not gonna take sides but a question Bruce. Do you not think it right to follow the requirements or wishes of the landowner that allows you to hunt his property? The reason I ask is that one of the farms I hunt, the landowner told me not to kill squirrels. Anything else was fiine but no squirrels. They are legal game, should I shoot them or abide by her wishes?
