I would definately listen to your dad, your scent may get blown around but if you cant find a good day for dealing with the wind, neither will the deer, their going to be cautious but they need to move around and about too.
you keep waiting and you'll keep losing more and more days to hunt.
Good Luck
I haven't bow hunted in the past few days now because of the wind. Here in ky it's crazy 10 to 25 mph gust and keeps changing directions every hour it seems. I would go if I had an area were I could set to keep n eye on a bottom area like between two ridges or against a cliff or some were that the deer could stay out of the main wind. I know here this kind of weather is a great day for a deer to bedding down in the middle of a over grown field soking up the sun staying warm. Turkey will be scratching the non wind sides of hills, usually about mid ways up the hill and travel horazonily. Me I'm sitting in the house looking out the window mumbling under my breath, giving mother nature an ear full over the weather ! :whistling::whistling::whistling:
well if I were you I would be out hunting anyway. I just love being in the outdoors but on day's like this I try to find the best possible cover. On day's like this I like to hunt in the pines or if the valley's if the hills are fairly close
I been hunting in the bad wind the last 3 days and I have seen plenty of deer movement not a day without seeing deer and 3 of them were big bucks there just real sketchy
