I have 125 acres in SW Mississippi that I planted numerous food plots in rye grass in October. Now it is 2-3' high, and beginning to seed. I'm told that rye will die in the summer heat. Should I cut the grass now to allow new shoots to come up, or should I leave it for bedding (for deer) and nesting for turkey?
I don't plan on doing a lot of summer planting.
I just bought the place last summer and am new at food plots. I sure would welcome your help!
Thanks.
