shotgun choke question

I recently inherited an Ithaca featherweight semi-auto 12 ga. from my father in law. This is one of his favorite shotguns and as his son in law I am happy to be receiving it. However as with most older type shotguns it has a fixed mod. choke. I was thinking of having the barrel modified so I would be able to use screw in type chokes. Has anybody had this done? What are your thoughts on doing this to an older shotgun?

I haven't had it done but I have an old Remington Wingmaster barrel with a fixed full choke which I would like to get the barrel threaded to accept screw in chokes.

Here's the link to have it done. Carlson's Shotgun Choke Tubes and accessories for the hunter and shooter
My friends uncle did that to an ithaca featherweight. Ill have to ask where he sent it to and double check that it was a featherweight.

briley can do it at around $150. that all i know about it. i have a browning citri (spelling) that i'd like to have done but that would be $300.
