I think about getting an SKS and pairing it with a scope. I had heard that cover receiver scopes aren't good and a gunsmith did not recommend drilling and tapping the receiver. That leads to the option of either hoping for luck with a receiver cover or setting it scout style.
I read some reviews and some people say there are problems with such a setup, especially with hunting applications (need to shoot at odd hours, need to shoot moving target, need to shoot at odd angles)... So, I would love to hear as many opinions as possible about such a setup.
