Scope failure

The Tasco world class 3x9 scope on my TC firehawk failed. This is the first scope problem I've had in over 40 years of hunting. The crosshairs have turned 90*. In all honesty this is the least expensive scope I've ever purchased. I guess it couldn't stand up to the pounding from the muzzleloader. I need a silver coated 3x9x40 to replace it with and after Christmas will begin looking at makes/models.

it happens. i had a tasco fail and contacted them, sent it in and the sent me a brand new scope the newer modle. and had an atec fail on my 338 win mag returned it and got the pentax light seeker
I had a similar problem with a Tasco Silver Antler scope several years ago. I boxed it up and sent it back to Tasco. I think they repaired mine instead of sending me a brand new one. Any way since they repaired that scope it has been almost indistructable. All I paid was shipping.
I have never used a Tasco scope and don't believe I ever will. My recommedation for your muzzleloader is the Nikon Omega. It has BDC reticle with exact aim points for a 50 caliber in-line muzzleloader at 4 distances, up to 250 yards. I got mine on-line for under 300 with shipping. The one I have is 3-9 x 40. I use Nikon and Leupold only, although I own a Ziess Conquest too. That is the only Ziess I will own as it let me down with leakage on my first hunt with it. :surprised:
I just had a Brand New, never mounted Tasco scope given to me.
I think it's a 3-9x50. I'll have to keep a close eye on it.

not to jack this thread but, what do you think of the pantex. skips has one real nice deal on one, and it is one of two scopes i am debating on for my .270.

I like pentax. i got 2 of the light seekers. I've got all kinds of scopes simmons, bushnell, tasco, bsa, and i'm sure there are others. i use them all and they all do the job. the light seekers are the clearest and gather the most light but they were also the most expensive. between 450 and 550.

look at it this way even the less expensive scopes are far better than the scopes of old. the redfield was top of the line in its day and most every scope out there is clearer and has better light gathering capabilities.

free is a great deal. i still use the tasco i got back on my 243. no problems.
few of my rifles still carry Redfields, they were a great scope, in their time.
