Well, last weekend was a bust. absolutely nothing worth mentioning. we will blame the warm weather for what is fast becoming a sour rut. although I have to wait till the holiday weekend before my next opportunity, this weekends heat wave may be extending the full rut another week, I HOPE.
I am going into the field tomorrow to change SD cards from my trail cam that I now have watching my mock scrape. hoping to see that dbl main beam in my neck of the woods.

From what I have been hearing and reading, rutting bucks have been scarce at best and because of the warm weather have actually shut down. a little chasing has been reported but the kind of full blown rut you would come to expect has been nonexistent.

so what happens in these strange circumstances? will the rut get pushed back into early to mid December? rut and second rut back to back?

someone??
everyone??
anyone??

Here in semo, people have seen some bucks chasing does. But I agrre with you that it never got as good as it should. I hope that with this cold snap that it may really fire up the rut around here. I havent seen any bucks actively chasing a does this year. I know that some people have but I still think the best is yet to come.

Saw no rutting signs in Southern Ohio this week. For the most part it's over here in Ohio. There will be a post rut coming up but it is always small compared with the primary rut.

Here in North Central Missouri, I sure have!! It's been a GOOD rut year so far... i'd say the rut is about over for the first cycle.. those does that didn't get bred will come back into estrous in December anytime..

They have been running well here in Middle TN since Thanksgiving. After killing one yesterday afternoon, I'm probably done here for the year. I still have a hunt in AL during the peak rut in Jam. so I'll probably just shoot pictures and eat my last buck tag. I let a lot walk once the freezers are full.
