I'm hunting the Mississippi river bottoms near the levee. We just got through with some high water that would have completley cleared out and whitetail that was in there. Very unfortunate being that we are IN THE RUT!

Any chance they would move back in the bottoms or just get settled where they relocated? Is it too late to scout for a different spot?

This is my first year hunting river bottoms, so any advice would be helpful!

i would only guess that being the rut and bucks put on miles anyway it won't be long before they are back. but thats just an opinion. got a buddy in Arkansas that deals with that all the time and he still, continues, hunts his land after the water goes down and he does alright.
