Well it has been about 10 years but I'm going on the hunt again and am debating what slug is best for my gun and application. As the title states it's a Remington 870 Express Magnum with a 21" rifled barrel. I used to use a sabot slug that aways carried way to high as I remember and I find that I have several rounds of the Remington Slugger slugs in my inventory. I want to say that I went to them because they were actually more accurate and cheap. I hunt deer in fairly thick woodland and am debating if I should stick with the Sluggers or try a sabot round. I want to stay with a 2-3/4" slug because as a result of triple bypass and having had my chest opened up like a fish don't want to flop my lungs out when I shoot from the recoil. Anyway I thought I'd see if anyone out there with a similiar model preferred a particuliar round with their setup. I'm looking for accuracy obviously and I know when dealing with slugs every gun is different in this respect but I'm looking for a starting point so I don't have to buy every conceiveable slug I think might fit the bill. So any suggestions would be much appreciated. Oh I do not anticipate a shot more than 100yds. Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered.
