Yeah I read many of the articles about the issue, Scent Lok maketed a product knowing full well it didn't perform as advertised
but, the part that gets me are the ones who paid the high dollars for those products are still supporting scent lok.

i'll still use scent lock or blocker. everyone with half a brain knows it doesn't eliminate odor, but does it help? i think so and if it can give me that 5 yards or couple more seconds i'm going to use it. call me crazy
I don't own any scent blocker products. Rarely do I ever get busted.

how do you know? can you see 200 yards down wind? i've had deer come in from down wind, had them walk 360 around me looking for the buck grunt, had them walk by my close enough to touch. so i know what i'm doing is working and if that includes scent lok and blocker along with silver thread metalist, i'm going to keep using it. now i can't tell you how many did bust me from down wind that i never heard or saw but i do know i fooled some of them.
never said you didn't know you are doing! I just don't own scent blocker products. I don't think they are needed. However, to each their own on what you wear. I haven't had a deer blow at me down wind in many years and every year I have deer walking right under my stand. I think that's good enough!

i didn't take it that way hm. just how do we know what we don't know? its the same with calls or attractant scents how many times did it work but we didn't catch it? so how many deer caught our scent from 200 yards down wind a change their direction. at distace they may not blow especially if they get a good wiff and know what it is. old bucks aren't likely to blow in any case.
Ok, and I agree with what you don't see may be way smarted than we give them credit for. I try my level best to de-scent myself to the maximum everytime. I really believe in the steam sauna as it cleans the pours out and bag up my clothes and keep local pine boughs in them. I know I smell but keeping it to a minimum is what we all strive for. I also usually have pretty dense background cover and probably could never see anything 30 yds behind me. Scent lock clothing may be of some additional help, just know if the price gets you a whole lot of extra?
I have one of the thin pairs of coveralls. Probably only good for bow hunting weather in TN. I treat those coveralls the same as I treat my others. Meaning I try to remove/keep away as much scent as possible.

I couldnt say either way whether I thought they worked better or not. Deer rarely busted me before when I do the scent free shower, wash clothes, keep hunting products in seperate container etc thing.

i do the scent lok under clothes and scent lok hat and mask or the hood, with the clean uv free scent free washing regular camo.

Not calling you crazy at all ronn, I mean you already have the scent lok garments you might as well wear them out now. BUT buying more Scent Lok is like buying a car with no wheels you'll get a car but not what you bargained for so the way I see it is, just buy regular clothing (Huge money savings) and treat it the same way you would the scent lok garments it's pretty much the same exact thing.
:goodposting:i agree bruce this was a huge marketing scam, and i bought some to.how about when they say just put it in dryer like new.they said that for that to work at all even minimally you would have to reach a temp of 800 degrees,my dryer doesnt get that high.im gonna work on the new official scent lok dryer now.
scent loc or not

ive been a very successfull hunter for yrs and ive haversted many buck 120 -130 class in wny in southerntier with one 153 this area its nothing to scof at i sit up a tree and smoke i religiusly use tnks red fox cover entering last 200 yd i also ran sportingoods store for 16 yrs and know alot scent suits arent forever they to put out scent dont look for short cuts hunt the rut hard & hunt funnels small pinches between lg woods most places i hunt dont have much sing and be mobile if it aint happenning in 1 or 2 days move if youve ever seen a dozen bucks in an outing you know what im talkin about if i read as much in school as i do about deer id be workin for nasa
Bass Pro has some marked down scent loc clothing, some were at 30-40 dollars off listed price.
well HM they are not the only ones I went to two of my local bow shops & one was having their Fall sale All sent Loks were on the $20 rack didn't have any that fit me left or I would have bought them for that but asked him why so cheap he said he way not going to carry that line no matter how much they sold due to the fact he was supporting their lies? the other store also had them on sale not that cheap but was clearing them out also maybe real reason is the new gear is in? I don't know
what I do know is I have fallen for the sales pitches myself I must have spent over a years pay in hunting calls, scents, scent eliminators. clothes & other gear some has worked for me others I just think were garbage but have seen them work for others so who knows?
You just never know until you try....... When you think about scent, where does most of the scent you leave behind come from?? When you're on stand, where does your scent eminate from?? Scent lok may help, but it will not stop it, nothing will. I think that was Ron's point, if it helps some, you're better off than without it.
oh I agree I am just saying not to believe or get sucked into everything you see or read personally I won't spend the cash for it. I am down to my scent eliminator sprays (don't really know if they work but I can use a lot of spray for the cost of scent loc) my old grunt call & my bow or rifle & that's about it
Now Turkey hunting thats a different story I get sucked in every time:wallbash:
