Some days I'm absolutely disgusted to live in this country- don't get me wrong, I'm a proud American, but TRUE AMERICANS don't do things like this-- SO GET THE HELL OUT!

So much for eye-for-an-eye. So much for holding people accountable for their actions. This article (excuse my language) pisses me off. I read it last night and wanted this guy to experience the same hell he put this little girl through. BTW... this happened in Clayton, MO which is about 2hr away from where I live. This article was SOOOO important that it made it onto the 8th page of my local newspaper.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/L8F4K7) 35-year-old Marquicio Johnson was convicted in April of second-degree murder, child endangerment and two counts of child abuse. The Hazelwood man was sentenced Thursday in St. Louis County Circuit Court.
Johnson was accused in the December 2009 death of Orionis Barron-Taylor at the home of her great-aunt, who was Johnson's girlfriend. he had been watching the little girl while her great-aunt worked an overnight shift as a nurse.
Prosecutors said the toddler died from swelling of the brain as a result of being beaten by Johnson, who waited almost an hour to call for help.
32 years. WOW, he may have 30+years left of life when he gets out. This little girl just lost all of her's. I guess that's fair...

We just had a 2 year old drown in a neighbor's pool in our small town. The grandpa was watching him and used the bathroom, in an instant the little boy ran to the neighbor's pool jumped in and fell under the solar cover. I know it's a lot different than Tator's post but just as sad. I hate little ones being lost!!!!
I agree Tator and i wish somebody would pass tougher child laws.If your convicted of harming a child(beating,molesting)imho it should be automoatic life with no parole.If ur a multiple offender you should be put to death.I wonder if people really know how many child molesters live close to them,i believe most people would be astounded.There is no rehab for these people and they do not deserve a second chance.They should be put to death not put back in society!!!

Anybody that causes the death of somebody should be given the death penalty in the same nature that he/she caused for the victim. In this case the guy should be beaten till his brain swells and burn the crap out of him as well.
I completely understand how God tells us not to "judge" other people, but in this case, this sentence for this animal was not correct. I'm all for the "eye for an eye" option and that's what I stand by. Like TG said, if he beat this innocent, defenseless, helpless girl to death (AFTER BURNING HER SEVERELY) then he need to be beaten to death.
My question is this... how can this be SECOND degree murder? Comon. He burned her and then beat her to D E A T H. How long does one "get" to premeditate an action? In my opinion, as soon as he started burning her, he was attempting murder. Therefore, he had it in his mind that he was going to kill her before he burned her. Therefore, it was premeditated. Therefore, it was FIRST DEGREE MURDER. Wow, maybe I should be a judge.
I'll tell you one thing, if I were a judge, we wouldn't have cushy prisons like we do now because of stupid "human rights". In my opinion, you LOSE your human rights when you are locked up for murder, rape, burglary, incest, assault, etc.... ISN'T THAT THE WHOLE POINT OF PRISON????

Heck, maybe Obama will make it to where this guy can get some good retirement benefits from us hard working AMERICANS once he gets out since I'm sure he'll be unaccustomed to the world in 2044. I am a correctional sergeant for a prison here in Alabama. This crap sickens me. As a supervisor i have to do my job though or lose it because of inmate rights. I'm glad to hear that Joeco- and welcome to the club. I realize all prisons are not like this, but some of them are literally like a luxery resort for criminals. I believe that prisoner should be allowed a place to sleep, place to use the can, place to shower, and a place to eat. What more do they need?

I also don't agree with the whole "visiting" thing. That's my opinion. If you have done something wrong, you are in prison, locked up and that's it. NO extra rights. If you are sentenced to 3 years, well buddy you'll see your family in 3 years. If you are sentenced to life (obviously for doing something terribily BAD) guess what? NOPE, no more family. You screwed up. You lost your rights. In many cases, you ended someone elses life as they knew it. Whether by murder, molestation, sexual-verbal-emotional-physical abuse, or just stealing every cent a person or family owned. You changed that life forever and now your life needs to be changed forever.

Well, the good news about the case here in Texas is that the local District Attorney will not be prosecuting the dad for 'accidentally' killing the guy he caught molesting his daughter. The emergency responders reported they found the guy with his pants down around his ankles and his genitals exposed when they arrived.
If I found some guy like that with my daughter, I probably would have done the same thing, even if it was with my bare hands. Bad thing is the poor little girl will now have issues for the rest of her life.
