I was going to buy a Buckstalker .50 cal at Cabela's in the next couple weeks. They have a store about 30 mins from me but I just received an early Christmas gift from one of my contractors, a gift card to Bass Pro Shop. The card would allow me to purchase the rifle sooner and cheaper than expected but I have never bought a firearm online or mail order. I was curious if anyone has done this and what kind of luck they have had buying, in my opinion, sight unseen.

If your ordering a muzzleloader you can have it shipped right to your house as there is no paperwork needed, if that's what you're wondering. You can't do this with those muzzleloaders than have interchangeable barrels to make them rifles/shotguns...then you have to sign paperwork like a regular firearm. You may want to check out the Buckstalker at a gunshop or something near you, just to make sure you like how it feels/shoulders and all that good stuff.

WD, I'm leary about buying anything I don't have my hands on. I have shouldered a Buckstalker @ Cabela's but not MY buckstalker..........I know it sounds weird but it's just me, I'm like that with everything. "I don't want the one in the unopened box behind the counter, I want the one I just had my hands on".............

I've purchased several rifles online, no regrets whatsoever in fact most times it saved me money by buying them online.. cutting out the middle men usually saves a little money.. Rifles are manufactured to exact specs. any difference in machining variance would be minor and never noticeable by the shooter...
Bass Pro is offering an additional 20.00 dollars off AN INTERNET PURCHASE of 100.00 dollars or more, that deal ends today so jump on that one now...

Here's the Coupon Ad from Bass Proshops

Online Buckstalker

About six years ago I purchased a CVA Kodiak Pro online from Cabela's. It was packaged well and worked perfectly. I've since sold it. As far as the Buckstalker, I love mine. It's got a Tasco 3-9X40 scope and is light, accurate, and easy to shoot and clean. I think you'll like it.
