October 17th 2007 opening morning for me since i couldn't make the opening day of oct 13th,I was on stand for all of 2 hrs when a nice fat NY doe walked into my setup she came in from behind on a well used trail never knowing i was there. She walked right into my well cut shooting lane and stopped exactly where i rubbed the ground with my bare hand.So i drew back my mathews MQ 32 bow with a easton carbon aero arrow and sent a 100 grain nuge blade broadhead 21 yards right through both shoulders taking out both lungs. She sprinted 50 yards uphill leaving a excellent bloodtrail.I waited 15 mins cuz it had been raining so i didn't want to lose the trail as more rain was coming.I trailed to her final resting spot under a huge pine tree.I estimate her field dressed weight to be 130 pounds .she had a measurement of36 1/2' round the belly right behind the front legs and 44 1/2 ' round the midsection. She was field dressed in 10 mins dragged out to a quad and hung in a cooled outbuilding.we skinned her cut out the backstraps and had lunch, yummy.I tried loading pics last night but was having trouble ,will try again later.Today i'm picking up my 10 yr old nephew afterschool and gonna bring him on his first hunt with me.He cant shoot till he's 14 but he'll start the learning process today.I'm gonna make him the video camera man:wink::thumbup:
