Hey all just wanted to say hi. Just went on my first deer hunt 3 weeks ago and I have never been so addicted to anything so fast in my life. My father in law asked me to join him at deer camp this year and I had a blast. I didn't get a chance to pull the trigger but it was awesome being out in the woods with the anticipation of that first wall hanger stepping out of the thicks. I used a pop up blind and it was actually pretty comfortable to sit in all day. Since I got back i have not been able to get hunting out of my mind, I even have dreams about hunting. Looking back and what I've learned from research since I've been back theres alot I did wrong but oh well you gotta walk before ya run right?.
I also wanted to say this is an awesome forum, I belong to several atv/snowmobile forums and its such a bashing. It's all about "mine is bigger than yours" and you can't even post without some 13yr old calling you out on something they have now clue about. From what I've read so far this forum seems to be well run and everybody respects others thoughts and opinions.
Anyways I look forward to learning alot from all you master hunters out there, I'm like a sponge, I'll soak it all up!!!

Hey BukSeker and welcome to the site. Well said introduction. I think it's safe for me to say that you're not the only one that can't get hunting out of your mind and has dreams about it. There's 9,000,000,000,000,000 members on this site that are the same way as you and me. The great outdoors, such a wonderful place to be. Remember, just ask and you'll get plenty of great tips and advice on this site.

2004 Suzuki Z400 limited edition with too many add-ons to mention. I'm very anal with it so it rarely gets ridden, mainly just sits in the garage and gets cleaned & polished. Are you a fellow rider?

I have a 2006 Bombardier Outlander 650 EFi 4x4 I use it for Snow plowing the driveway in winter and getting into my hunting spots.
When she was new I pampered her dearly but NOW she's still pampered dearly according to my neighbors and other local riders. LOL

:wallbash:you must live in the city and not have to deal with deer problems. such as them eating you garden. or have never run into one and spent 1000's of dollars on a new bumper and head light. there are reasons for hunting and regulations. some people also hunt foor food. also a maijor reason is population/disease controll. you should do some research before you accuse and degrade people. i have as much appreciation for animals as you do if not more. all i am saying is you are just going on what other people have told you and not done the research to make the comments that you have made above. i also hope that your comment above remains on the board so that other hunters can give their thoughts on what you have said. i also respect that you have your right to an oppinion and the right to voice it but do not excpect to voice it in here with out some criticism.:wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

I am so glad that I found this site. It gives me an opportunity to let all of you know how angry I get when I hear all of you boast about killing innocent animals. Obviously you are at the bottom end of the human race because if you were enlightened you would realize that we have a responsibility to care for these creatures -- NOT kill them for some sort of twisted and degenerate pleasure. All of you deserve to be rounded up into a pen with no hiding place and just left there for whatever comes along to injure and maim you in the worst possible way. Thanks for listening to a voice of "reason"!
Let me offer up some basic observations on your post.
I will not go into depth with some logical counter thoughts as I have found there is little value in debating a point so limited as the one you have expressed.

I find it interesting that your voice of "reason" advocates the maiming and injuring a fellow human being.
Would you wish this upon those who utilize medicines and other modern day technologies realized through laboratory experimentation to better their own lives and the lives of their children?

I assume you are an advocate of vegetable consumption only (do plants have a consciousness or feelings?) considering your preservationist point of view.

I also assume you neither wear nor use animal protein based foods or byproducts in your day to day life, no leather goods, no fertilizers for your garden, pesticides, any pets you might have eat only vegetable base foods, no animal based byproducts of any form, right?
I also assume, considering your advocacy for the unprotected life forms on this planet you have never swatted down a fly or killed a mosquito?

It is convenient and sloven to lash out at those who do not conform to your personal set of values and mindset, passing judgment on another's life choices is easy when you don't have to look them in the eye.

Did you ever stop to consider the only reason that the healthy deer population within this country is due exclusively to the sportsman and conservationists who have shared their hard earned dollars and vision to promote, protect, and enhance said population?
If the preservationist stance you embrace had been put into practical use this discussion wouldn't be taking place, there would be no deer to talk about.

Without them you would have to find another group of people to wish your ugly admonitions upon.

I would think you might consider going on to the PETA site where your narrow and uneducated views might be shared with the others who refuse to acknowledge the realities of this world.
JMHO.

Very well said guys, and I would like to add a bit more if I may.

Hunting was in existence long before you existed, and I expect it to continue long after you are gone. The sport of deer hunting has been depended on, not just for the reasons mentioned above, but to a real lot of decent human beings for survival.

A lot of familys' have survived because of this sport. Who knows your own family in times past may have contributed to this sport, leading to your own existence on this planet. We respect your right to your own opinion, but in return, please respect ours as well.

Deer hunting is only a small part of the whole picture. If you read the post up top of this page you would see another small piece of the picture, unless you are to narrow minded to see, that which is right in front of your nose.

It is a grand sport and I dare say that most hunters' probably feel at least a little bit of remorse when they pull the trigger, but there is nothing like a great deer steak in the pan.

I know this is the ultimate reason most hunters, hunt deer, I know it has always been mine. Hopefully you never lose anybody in a deer/car collision, perhaps you would feel differently then.

Have A Nice Day!

yeah what they said, plus are all the pigs, cows, chickens, turkey or any other domesticated animal raised purely for the purpose of slaughter houses really treated more humanely? spending they're entire life in pen and cages never having the opportunity to live in the wild, run free, mate, care for their offspring, form family units, and just enjoy being alive.

Write to your congressman. Every state, province, even country issues these little things called tags which allows us, the people at the bottom end of the human race, to attempt to hunt (harvest) said animal according to tag. It's not us that you should be upset at because we do only what our state, province, or country ALLOWS us to do. Remember that the law makes the decision on what animal to hunt, the gender, the time, and the number taken of said animals. I don't ever recall of anybody boasting of killing innocent animals on this site. My idea of boasting, "yeah man I just wasted this cute little fuzzy brown deer with my elephant gun and as I sat there waiting for it to die I said, see what you get you dumb animal, I can't wait to get online to tell everybody how cruel I was to you." Sorry but that just doesn't happen here. I am confident to say that every hunter here both male and female have the utmost respect for the outdoors and all of it's bounties, including the PRIVILEGE of hunting. I could go on forever in regards to this matter but I would like to enjoy the rest of this wonderful site and perhaps find a "boasting" thread in here that I could read about. I do THANK YOU for your wonderful insight and your voice of "reason". Please feel free to browse and leave an opinion on the site after all you are able to post which means YOU ARE OFFICIALY A MEMBER OF DEERHUNTERSCLUB.COM. FEEL FREE TO BOAST AT ANYTIME!

Man what a vocoubulary.. am I going to have to get a dictionary to post on this web site??? Just kidding... Let me translate- why do you come to this site and read our posts if it bothers you? It is your right to not aprove of hunting or eating meat, but it is our right to do so if we choose. I allways try to be tollerant of others but this site is one of the only, daily, and stress free interactions that I am able to partake in. Please dont mess it up by posting your views on this type of site. And I promise that I will not post my views at PETA or the vegan site.lolololol
