Experienced and accomplished old hunter here, but I have a question I was hoping I might get some good responses to. So here goes...
Years back I acquired a Traditions Panther .50 cal muzzleloader for cheap on a trade. However I did not get an owner's manual for it, and I have no idea where to start as a minimal load for this gun. The previous owner simply told me that it shot well with about 50 grains of powder (Black powder or Pyrodex I don't know), and a .50 cal round ball with a treated patch.
Does anyone know where I can find a load chart and power / primer recommendations for safely shooting this weapon? I have tried Traditions page but the manuals there seem to be either generic or for other model guns or caliber's.
Thanks in advance for any responses.
