Well you came to the right place. Thanks for joining up.

This conversation could get lengthy so I will start with a few basics.

1. You ever taken the hunters safety course. Most states offer one. (where you from)

2. Do you have any hunting buds that you can hook up with on your first hunt?

3. Tell us some stuff about yourself. How old are you, what woods you gonna be hunting, what other wildlife have you hunted in the past, etc. Our responses would be different according to age. There are things I might say to an adult that I would not say to a young sportsmen. (for example an appropiate gun size)

Enjoy the forums. Im sure when our members learn some more stuff about you quite a few folks will throw their 2 cents in.

Welcome to the world of hunting. Hang around with us this year and you will see why we hunt.

I love these topics, it will truly show you that there is more than one way to skin a cat........or deer. welcome to the forums..

The most important thing i can think of is make sure your wife knows that "Buck fever" WILL cause you to be away ALOT, mine still gives me a hard time about saving all my vacation time for "Prime Time". The long after work drives just to sit in a cold stand for a few hours before dark.
It WILL make you do things you never thought possible.
It WILL change the way you look at life.

Every thing i have learned hunting helps me in my day to day. The same things that make you a good hunter will also make you a good man/woman. I hope you stick with it there really is nothing else on the planet like this great sport we call Whitetail hunting.

For Wisconsin residents, a Wisconsin certificate is valid in lieu of a small game hunting license from the date of issuance until March 31 of the following year. Also, first time graduates may receive a free Special Antlerless Deer Carcass Tag. This carcass tag is valid for an antlerless deer during any open season with the appropriate license and corresponding weapon. This tag can only be obtained at a DNR Service Center.

does this mean that i will have to get a certificate every year? or is it a one time thing?? sorry for all the questions!! deer tags??
