i have an interview tomorrow at a company that i have been trying to get into for the last 4 months. i expect ill get the job. but it is kinda bitter sweet. last spring i graduated with an assosiates degree in welding technologys. at the place i work at now, if i were to stay there, the degree would be usless. no real opritunity to show what i can do weling wise. its all production stuff. quality is not a big concern, and the pay reflects that. at this new place they do aerospace welding a govt. contract stuff. the shop forman graduated from the same school i did, with the same degree and worked his way up the food chaine. so there is room for growth, and my skills will be vaulble to them and i expect that my pay will be atleast a few more bucks an hour. the only down side is that i will be working alot of OT if i get this job, and would be wlling to bet that there will be no hunting for me this year if i take the job. but hey ill be making about double what i am now.

Family comes first, and life does go by pretty fast, find a job you can enjoy rather than one that consumes you. You'll be able to work in the hunting as time goes by with vacation allowances. OT is not all bad, $$. Ask Buckfever about extra hours, I think he's been working them like crazy this year. Our plant is the only one in the organization to pay supervisors OT, however, we fill in for each others vacations so I'm working manditory extra hours. It does cut into fishing/hunting but after 35 years I guess I've learned to schedule around/live with it. I hope you get the new job and is something you really enjoy doing, especially after going to school and being certified. Time to get rewarded for your efforts. Is it shift work or straight days?

Good Luck Hope you get the Job it sounds Good !!!

I think it would only be fair if we all took turns hunting your stands for the rest of this year :w00t:
i got two stands hear in NH, any of you guys would be welcome to use them if i can not. but chances of getting a deer in NH are much lower than down south, and iv only been hunting about 6 or 7 years so i doubt any of you more experianced guys would want to use my stands.

Yes we are only a few miles from Hypertherm not really sure what openings there are on the welding side but I think you can submit your resumé online or call the office
its just a thought if interested I know Delbert might be mad but you may even have time to hunt :shocking:
