Well I am just starting to endeavor into the world of hunting along with my son. I am 27 and he is 8. We live here in north western Tennessee.
I have just purchased a new Savage 111 in .243 which fits both me and my son very well(I plan on buying another in .270 for myself when I get the cash). We plan to get out there and try our luck the week after thanksgiving.
I have scouted my hunting area A LOT and have found a lot of evidence of deer activity around the pond and the surrounding areas(trails, tracks and such). The spot looks promising. It is a natural spring fed pond which is about 10 yards deep into the woods off of the field. I have constructed me a blind from natural materials about 80 yards down wind of the pond at the next treeline so im looking across the field part and into the trees at the pond with the treeline to my back. Its kinda of nestled in a little corner of the treeline breaking up the fields.
Ive researched and researched tips on hunting and all till i could not stand to read anymore but I am always open for more beginners tips!
Anyways I am really looking forward to getting out there with my son and learning this sport together and hopefully putting some of that good ole meat in my freezer!
