I am hunting a new spot this year. I have hunted this farm for years, but this spot has been to risky to get to without being spoted by deer. It is a north south funnell that connects two bedding areas. It is about 60 yards wide. To the west is a pasture that the deer avoid. To the east was usually soybeans which made it hard to aproach from that direction and I didn't want to come from north or south where the deer are traveling. This year they have corn to the east so I can get to my spot by walking through the corn or the pasture. I will be hunting from the ground (pop up tent) because the funell is just brush and weeds. I planted some brassica/cover mix right at the end of the corn field and my stand is about 15 yards into the brush from there. Finally my question. I could rototill a strip on the other side of me and plant some rye or something (I realize it's getting late for much else), or am I better off leaving it undisturbed. I am leaning towards the latter. By the way, I am after 8 points or better if that makes a difference.
