Nashville Floods

I wish you fellows could watch the local Nashville news. It would put a lump in your throat.

And its not because of the flood or the damage or any of that stuff. Its the attitude of my fellow Tennesseans. They aint crying and complaining. They are working their tails off cleaning everything up. And if their house is fine they are moving to their neighbors and helping them get everything cleaned up. Most have not even contacted fema yet for relief funds. They are to busy cleaning up. I could go on and on about the volunteer efforts in this state.

An interview with a black girl impressed me as well. She said I feel blessed. People lost their life in the flood waters but all I lost were items that can be replaced.

There were no morons on the roofs of houses shooting at the cops and national gaurd!

I liked the interview with Brad Paisley. (country music singer) He lost a ton of stuff but took it in stride. He said he is over compensated for the music he plays. He cant replace all the guitars that had memorable value to it but thats not what he is concerned about. He is concerned about all the other folks that lost all their stuff and dont have the means to replace it.

The only idiots I have seen on the news so far is 3 guys from south of the border who got busted for stealing a riding lawn mower and some other yard equipment that a flooded home owner had put out in his yard.

my bro lives in lebinon tenn. right out side of nashville i guess. his car got flooded bad the water was 1/2 way up the dash. i guess the car might be a total loss. he is trying to see what its going to take to get it fixed. if it would cost him more to fix than its worth, then he will just scrap it and get a new one. but he still has the "this aint nothing" additude.
I like the attitude.

Crap happens, you adjust accordingly and move on.
That's one reason I want to move down south. Up here in Maryland, you can't look at someone with out them wanting to fight you. The southern hospitality is great, when I go to my property out in the mountains people have such a great attitude and are willing to help you out even if they don't know you. It doesn't take a major crisis for that to come out. I wish everyone here had the attitudes of the people down south.
That's terrible for the folks there. But if there's any good to come out of this it is the good old fighting American spirit that everybody comes together to lend a hand and holds their heads high and does the best they can do to alleviate the situation.

I agree, well said...
Tennessee realy got hammerd with the rain
Its great to see people can still take care of there self
I wish the rain would shut off for everyone right now. NW Ohio has had over 4" in the last 1 1/2 weeks and more today. We had a couple of tornados this week with little damage. I too am happy to see the Tenn people have that fighting spirit and re-grouping together to clean a really big mess up.
The Gibson Nashville plant got flooded really badly. Eight of the 400 or so employees who have been put out of work have been sent here to Bozeman to work at the Bozeman plant. They are a great bunch of guys and gals. Nice to meet other guitar builders - too bad it's the result of such a bad event.
