Nice rig. They say more deer have been killed over the years with the 30-30 than all others. Don't know if its true, but I do know a 170 gr 30-30 harvests deer just as well as most other calibers at the effective range it was designed for. I wanted to shoot a deer with a 30-30 NRA model 94 I have so I used a doe permit in PA and it performed perfectly. Again, that's a nice rifle you have there.

Thank You Hunting Man, All of my deer were taken in PA, I might be going down to VA for late muzzeloader season this year.

what hm said. my first, well first real, rifle was a 94. i did have a topper in 30/30 before that. i still have the 94. my sister got the topper.
