I have been using mueller 2x7 red dot scope for 2 yrs. This is the best scope I've ever owned. I shoot a rem. 30.06 auto. I shoot all my deer at 100 yrds or less in the neck. I shoot 5 deer a year and haven't missed since I bought it. The target was shot at 100 yrds. notice group of last 5 shots in bullseye. with factory loads. not bad for 70 yr. old wearing bifocals.

congrats on a very nice shooting rig. I don't suggest neck shots to most hunters as the chances for error are great and hitting the spine is a small target. I do however advocate double lung shots. With that said, perfect placed neck shots are instant kills just maybe not the best shot for the majority of hunters.
Red dots r nice for 100yds or less and for fast close range shooting.I have an Aimpoint comp 4 on a benelli slug gun.
red or yellow

I notice that the acog optical gunsite comes in both yellow and red targetting triangles. Has anyone tried both in the field and if so what color worked the best?

For coyote hunting at night I have an illuminated reticle scope, and I find that red works better than green. Thats the only field experience I have with illuminated reticles.
