Early muzzle loader season in Alberta - started Friday Oct 15th - but due to commitments called work - didn't get out until Monday the 18th. Have a mulie doe draw in eastern Alberta - and spotted three does on the east end of the pasture I was hunting. Took me about 2 hours of crawling through the sage brush to get within 200 yards. The biggest doe had spotted me in the brush and soon, head up, was coming closer to investigate what I was. At 140 yards, she turned down into a slough bottom and came up about 100 yards to my right, and as soon as she offered me a broad side shot, I touched off the trigger on my Traditions Pursuit and my hunt was over. First kill with muzzle loader, but definitely not my last!
