You want a debate . . . . you got it! <grin>

Depends on what part of the country you're from. Central Texas, the .270 is more than enough for anything within 300 miles. But then again, what other state can you travel 300+ miles and still haven't left the state??? But that's a different argument altogether!

My vote is for .270. Between the 130 and 150 grain bullets, they can drop just about anything.

P.S. Don't have a .30-06 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . yet!

"It sure is fun arguing over the fire. Let's just remember how lucky we are to be able to choose from such a wonderful selection of choices."

Amen to that! Let's not forget this coming November how far this current administration has gone to take that choice away from us.

Thanks Karl for bringing that to our attention.

Besides everyone knows the 300 savage is the overall best most beloved deer getting cartridge ever developed!

Now HM, I could have sworn (yup, there I go again . . . swearin') that the most beloved of deer getting cartridges was the .30/30. It's brought down more deer than most of the rest of them combined. I'm not takin' anything from the .300 Savage, got one (from my grand pappy) and I still use it . . . just saying that I'd bet anyone a dozen doughnuts that the .30/30 is the most beloved for "all time".

P.S. Now if that don't stir up a hornets nest with this bunch, nothin' will!!!
