It could be a lot worse

Well, with this season rapidly winding down, it really makes you ponder how things could have been different and how much better they could have been.
windy on some of the hunting days, wet on others. too warm through late Nov for the rut.(What Rut?) then, super cold this weekend. so, I thought they would move. NOT.

It could have been worse, easily.
I could have been skunked,
but wasn't.

Yeah, this season could have been better. it looked at one time like it might be.
but it could have been worse, a lot worse, easily.

Yeah I know. Not been the best here this year either,( for myself that is) An same as you said, we had either 30 mph winds or storm or I had something I had to get done and couldn't go. but since I put my son on his first, I REALY don't care about my season as much this year as usual.

Yeah, I know the feeling somewhat. and that's Huge.
My son didn't shoot one last year, (his first year hunting.) but he had one come in that he shot at. I told him I hunted for several years before I even got to go to full draw on one.
I guess this season could have been worse.Had a bad time during archery.I changed arrows and that was not a good thing.I did manage to hit a 4pt but the yotes beat me to it,so all I got was a set of antlers.Took a 3 day trip with a friend of mine that has never deer hunted and got him his first deer. That left me with one day to hunt, and nothing. My freezer is looking pretty low,But I guess it could be worse:wallbash:
Oct. was a good month for me got a Doe in NH & a Doe in NY went down hill from there never got a chance at a buck but I still have till Thurs. Not good odds since I get home only an hour before it gets dark but I aint quitting yet
Took deer buck&doe with bow and gun but missed a chip shot on a big buck with bow:wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:.
Great for me so far. Nothing big in terms of a buck but four with a bow, one with a mzl. and three with a rifle is a big improvement over only hunting 45 minutes last year.

Still got a few days left here and then a peak rut hunt in AL. I don't know if I will venture out anymore here or not.
Not a good year here, kinda knew going into the fall but you never know I have 1 last trip ML to fill a tag.
Not a bad year here, but not a good year either. After all but giving up on bow hunting the past couple of years I decided to give it another go mainly to check activity around a new stand I had put up on a new clearing created this summer. I "shot" what was by far the best buck I had ever shot with a bow on Halloween evening. But it was not to be. I searched for several days with no luck. He ran towards a neighborhood and a small dog got him up and I believe he left the county! The following Saturday I "killed" my best deer to date on the mz opener. A 130" class ten with double brows. I have hoped someone would see the buck I shot with bow during mz or gun but no luck.
