What a great story. Well written. It could go into any hunting magazine. Also, it sounds like your grandson is getting excellent training on judging deer and learning how to hold off firing until just the right one gives him the right shot. However, I have to admit the squeezing on the trigger, even with the safety on, to practice aiming gives me a little bit of an uneasy feeling. Anyway, congratulations on a successful hunt.

Onehorse I know what you mean about the aiming practice, but from the blind aiming at the ground or a tree stump I don't see a problem. The golden rule I teach the kids with any gun is to know where the bullet stops. It really is good practice.

Buckshot, I won't argue the point with you, if that's what you do. On the positive side, at least you'll know that your safety works.
