Got a call from my son, who now lives in Illinois, he going to try to cut a lease deal(s) on several smaller properties in S. Ohio where we hunted last year. There were plenty of deer and he harvested two high quality bucks from one of the properties. If that happens my days in PA are numbered. With this year's license, I will have hunted 39 seasons there. Enough memories there. My Brother's ashes were poured into a beautiful mountain stream just down from our cabin in 2000. Will be hard to leave that place. A trip in to see old friends most likely will continue and maybe a hunt time to time. Friends are the hard part. I'd like to shoot a real bragging buck before I hang up my gear, and the real chance comes from S Ohio. Lots of thoughts go into changing ones thoughts/feelings. We'll see as things progress.

Best of Luck HM. whether it's hunting in Pa. or S.Ohio with your son both options sound like a Win Win situation to me.

We'll see how it all plays out. If we can lease out 80-100 acres of prime hunting then probably will go with that. My plans for this year are 1 more bow trip to PA with my buddies. Either a rifle hunt in PA or shotgun hunt in S.Ohio with son as PA and Ohio start on same day. Most likely a ML hunt in S. Ohio in January with son. It's all subject to change but for now that's how I see this year's hunting. How about everyone else, what's your hunting plans for this year?

No special hunting trips planned here either.

But as long as I can go out with my sons and daughter, don't need to go anywhere but the back yard. We've put 2 to 4 deer in the freezer every year that I've not been playing in the great big kitty litter box most folks call Southwest Asia.

Can't wait to see the look on my daughter's face when she gets her first deer.

Hunting trips to PA and S. Ohio keep my hunting budget in tact. I call these mini trips compared to elk hunting in Co. I enjoy doing several mini trips just to break up my hectic work schedule. I skipped out of the CO elk trip this year but two from SC are going. My buddy in PA has lyme disease and decided not to head west this year. He feels like crap.
