Haven't used the Hornady SST per say - deviating from my Remingon Core-Lokts to test out the Hornady LeveRolution rounds for my 30/30. The 160 grain bullet dropped the buck in its tracks, but I think shot placement (neck) had as much to do with that as anything else. I was quite impressed with the quarter sized exit wound, having only heard/read about the power of these new rounds. To me, you get the power/range of a .270/150 grain bullet out of a 30/30 cartridge.
I posted a picture of that buck last November in the gallery and you can see for yourself the exit wound. I didn't exactly go digging around in that area since it wasn't part of the field dressing process so I can't tell you much more about the 'wound channel' than I've already stated.
