That's why they call it hunting and not getting. Nature has the ability to humble us in many different ways. Harvesting is only a small portion of the great adventure called hunting. Be patient, be humble, be consistant, relax, try to improve your abilities each and every time out, and soon the harvesting comes second natured. Good luck on your next adventure!

got there nice and early, found a good spot, and waited. good crisp, cool morning, little wind in a good direction, good conditions, yet nothing. not a sound. its been the same story all season. everyone iv talked to around my area has been saying the same thing, the deer just arnt moving, if they do anything its late at night. just a bad season.

but on the up side of things. i got tired of coming home empty handed so i went to walmart and got some #6 shot for my 12ga. got squirrel! they crack me up, they will sit there ard just chew your but out for being too close to thier tree. until you shoot one. then they shut up. after i shoot the one none of them were to eager to be next in line. is there a "way" to hunt squirrels? or any tricks to it?

Those squirrels are pretty pesty but fun to watch chasing each other all over the place. But when they spot you is when their no longer fun to watch. They flick their tail and bark and that's a royal pain. When they get in a tree that's close to me like about 10 yards or so they look directly at me and I sit there motionless and then I quickly make a motion like I'm going to grab them or make a motion like your going to fight and that usually scares the junk out of them and they take off and shutup. USUALLY.

Hey at least you're getting to hunt! I've been stuck here in California working for the last 5 weeks. Hope I get home to hunt the last two weeks of deer season in MS. Anyway, those rats can be tough in the late season. My favorite tactic is to take a really accurate .22 and ease around taking long shots before they know I'm around. If you see several, just sit and shoot; waiting to retrieve several at one time. Just be really careful to mark them all so you don't loose any. Good luck with that venture.
