Gun to bow?

bruce, why do you say that about the field dressing in the same area???

field dressing draws predators into the area much quicker...

AHH... gotcha, that makes sense. I've actually seen where the blood of a doe can attract a buck. I'm guessing they can smell some sort of estrous scent in the blood or on the ground where the doe was laying.

you should be fine to bow hunt the next day, i sometimes bow hunt during gun. an yes you should never field dress a deer i'd say within 200 yards of your hunting area. i hunt privet land n its only about 1 mile away n i load the harvest up n field dress here at the house. n by doing this i've hunted the same area later the same day or the next morning many times in the past n seen deer n turkey both in that area. if you cant take it home field dress realy close to were you are parking , i say that only because your parking there only because you feel its far enough away from your hunting area that your truck will not hurt your hunting well your field dressing should be that same distance as well.

there's a difference between a doe bleeding from a wound vs. spotting blood during her estrous cycle, the estrous cycle creates estrogens and progesterone which are the scents a rutting buck is drawn to.

I dont think its to soon. I just think about how many deer I have taken with a gun that were in bow range or very close to bow range.

And like you said the rut is never to soon to be in the woods.
