I have repeatedly tried to grunt in a buck that has created a massive scrape close to my stand. I can get the deer to run behind me but he will not come out to the scrape. Taking all precautions as far as scent. Any advice?
yeah it sounds like its time to try a new stand set up on the back door or wait on the winds to change & play that card? but i would set up 2 stands in that location just to be ready for anything the deer or weather throws at you! but i agree with the less is more in grunting & rattling. With the grunt, I think Less is More. If you grunt and the deer is coming towards you then don't do it again. If he stops for a few minutes give it one or two more soft bumps but that's it. I've heard guys on a stand with those things tooting away like they're in a parade...
i have used codeblue for the last 2 yrs with mod results compared to tinks i like codeblue best this is the first yr useing their tarsle gland had one nice 6 point come in ears perked and stiff legged i did not have any other sent so it had to be the tarsle gland you can bet i will be giving it anouther try next year i would this but i had to cut deer season short to move to next jobsite in elpaso txHow is that stuff anyway Mr. Hubbard? I only used Tinks and a few others.
